BHEL Wins Governance Now PSU Awards 2020 In Three Categories

New Delhi, Feb 28,2020: Among all state and central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been adjudged as the Best PSE in HR Excellence & Re-skilling of Employees, Research and Innovation and Geo-strategic Reach, by an independent jury for the “Governance Now PSU Awards 2020.”

The awards were received by BHEL’s Director (HR) Anil Kapoor, from the Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal, at a function in New Delhi recently.

 

 

 

BHEL signs MoU with Rosoboronexport, Russia

New Delhi, February 12: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed an MoU with Joint Stock Company ‘Rosoboronexport’, Russia during the 5th India Russia Military Industrial conference held in Lucknow. The aim of the MOU is to cooperate and undertake joint projects and operations for Defence Systems. This will help in leveraging BHEL’s strength/capabilities in the Defence Sector in association with Russian OEMs under the ‘Make in India’ initiative and offer indigenous support and solutions to the Indian Defence Forces.

 

Mr. Subodh Gupta, Director (Finance), BHEL, recognised for his Finance Leadership

 

New Delhi, January 17: Mr. Subodh Gupta, Director (Finance), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded the ‘TOP RANKERS Excellence Award 2020’ for Best Finance Professional of the year. The award has been conferred on Mr. Gupta in recognition of his finance leadership. Mr. Gupta has been instrumental in revamping the financial systems and procedures in the company and ensuring best corporate practices. The award was presented to Mr. Gupta at the 21st National Management Summit being held in New Delhi.

 

 

 

BHEL wins Indian Green Energy Award 2019

New Delhi, December 17: BHEL has won the Indian Green Energy Award 2019 in the category, Outstanding Renewable Energy Generation Projects (Solar) for its 7.5 MWp Solar PV Plant at Trichy. The award was received by Sh. Anil Kapoor, Director (HR), BHEL from Sh. Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways and MSME, in the presence of Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Vice Chairman, Niti Aayog. The award has been instituted by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE), a partnership of committed groups of visionaries and stakeholders from diverse industries and services, for creating a sustainable ecosystem and mitigating challenges and concerns.

 

 

16/10/2019 - Mr. Anil Kapoor appointed Director (HR), BHEL

 

New Delhi, October 16: On his appointment as Director on the Board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Mr. Anil Kapoor, 57, has assumed charge as Director (Human Resources) of the Public Sector engineering and manufacturing enterprise.Prior to this, he was heading the HR and Corporate Communication functions of BHEL as Executive Director, overseeing the entire gamut of HR processes encompassing transformational and core areas of HR in talent acquisition & management, employee engagement, industrial relations, HR policy, corporate social responsibility, medical services, rajbhasha, health, safety & environment and learning & development, apart from Corporate Communication.

 

Mr. Kapoor is an Electrical Engineering Graduate from IIT, Roorkee. He has also done a certificate course on Statistical Quality Control & Operations Research from Indian Statistical Institute, Chennai.He has 37 years of holistic and hands-on experience in the areas of quality, technology and manufacturing functions in addition to human resource management. Mr. Kapoor is people-oriented and has been instrumental in implementing various innovative and flagship projects conceived by Govt. of India like Skill Development, Udyan Shalini, Swachh Bharat, and Cashless initiatives. He started his career with BHEL as an Engineer Trainee at the company’s corporate office in New Delhi and subsequently moved to its Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP), Haridwar where he contributed in various areas and different capacities. Under his leadership, BHEL has been honoured with various awards and accolades in the areas of HR excellence, safety and CSR. Mr. Kapoor has also been honoured with BHEL Excel Award twice for innovative technological developments.

16/10/2019 - Secretary (DHI) inaugurates 1900 kg capacity metal-cutting gas plant,at BHEL’s Bhopal unit

  

October 16: A 1900 kg capacity metal-cutting gas plant, set up at BHEL’s Bhopal unit, was inaugurated today by Dr. A.R. Sihag, Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), Govt. of India in the presence of Dr. Nalin Shinghal, Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL, Mr. Amit Varadan, Joint Secretary, DHI and Mr. D.K. Thakur, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal. Other senior officers and employees of BHEL were also present on the occasion. Significantly, this plant, installed at the Gas & Power Plant Division in the unit, is the first industrial set-up for metal cutting in this capacity range.

23.09.19 - BHEL commissions five units of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme Package 8 (7x139 MW) in Telangana
New Delhi, September 23: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commissioned five pumping units of the 7x139 MW Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS) Package 8, in Telangana. Significantly, the pump for each unit is designed to lift 89.14 cumecs (cubic metres per second) of water by 120.98 metres.

17.09.19 - BHEL wins Highest number of National Safety Awards

New Delhi, September 17: Among a host of public and private sector companies in the country, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won the highest number (Nine) of 'National Safety Awards' for outstanding achievements in terms of the longest accident-free period and lowest accident frequency rate at its works. The awards were received by Dr. Nalin Shinghal, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL from Sh. Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Hon'ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour & Employment, at a function held in New Delhi. Significantly, BHEL has been winning these prestigious national awards, instituted by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India consistently, since their inception.

 

16.09.19 - National Level  Safety  Innovation Award 2019 for  BHEL
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been conferred the Safety Innovation Award 2019 by The Institution of Engineers (India). The Institution of Engineers (India) gives Safety Innovation award every year to those companies who have done remarkable work in developing innovative practices and achieve excellence in safety.
The award presentation function was held on 16th September, 2019 at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi in which Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav Chairman Railway Board distributed the awards. Award was received by Shri Anil Kapoor ED (HR&CC) on behalf of BHEL.
